The Danger of Unused Creativity

There’s a kind of silence that’s not peace.

It gathers in the places where expression was clipped, where instinct was doubted, where a child learned quiet was safer than truth.

Unused creativity doesn’t vanish. It turns.
It twists into the body.
It haunts the nervous system like fog in the lungs.

You don’t have to name yourself artist.
You don’t need a studio, a stage, or an audience.
You were born to respond—to shape the world as it shapes you.
Through words, movement, rhythm, rearrangement, gesture, gaze.

The risk is not in making badly.
The risk is in not making at all.

Every unspoken idea, every unpainted vision, every muffled impulse to dance, sing, scream—they don’t disappear.
They compress.
They ferment.

They become migraines.
Or numbness.
Or quiet resentment.
Or a vague sadness you can’t name.

There are rivers dammed behind many eyes—
not because there’s nothing there,
but because something once whispered:
‘Don’t. It’s not good enough. Not safe. Not time.’

This isn’t about talent.
This is inner weather.

When you make—when you give shape to what you feel—
you release pressure from the system.
You return to the rhythm of response,
where grief becomes color,
longing becomes sound,
confusion finds form long before it finds meaning.

There is no right way.

Only the way that lets the dam break,
the breath come,
the voice return—
to the body that carries it.

Make badly.
Make in secret.
Make with trembling hands.

But make.

Not for them.
For the part of you that still remembers
what it feels like—
to be whole.
