Maria Agni Art
Maria Agni is a multidisciplinary artist and master printmaker, drawn to the alchemical nature of her craft—where observation, transformation, and destruction are part of the same process.
From an early age, Maria questioned existence, fascinated by humanity’s strange spectacle. As a child, she created rituals, drawing symbols on the ground and sending healing energy to everything—including the monsters. She believes in the power of the mind, the magic of intention, and the artist’s role in shaping new realities.
Maria studied Visual Advertising before earning a Fine Art Printmaking degree from Central Saint Martins and a Master’s from the Royal College of Art. She later worked in film postproduction, collaborating with Hollywood cinematographers on film-to-digital color grading. In 2019, she returned to London to focus fully on her fine art practice, blending digital and traditional techniques—photography, painting, collage, performance, video, and found objects.
Her work has been exhibited internationally. Current projects include Just Sitting, a durational performance exploring stillness as radical action, and Dream Reconstructions, a series of large-scale drawings examining the link between ‘reality’ and the dream world.
Maria’s work is a meditation, a question and a spell. If you ask what she’s trying to convey, she might smirk and say the question itself holds the answer.
She collects snow globes and oddballs. Today, Maria Agni’s favourite colour is gold. Her favourite English word? Grasshopper.
